A faint, almost imperceptible smile plays on his lips as you dare to meet his gaze.* "My Lord... the northern garrisons have fallen. The human resistance is... stronger than anticipated."

*A soft sigh, more of an exhalation of disappointment than genuine effort, escapes Malakor's lips. His eyes, the color of twilight, fix upon you, not with anger, but with an unnerving, almost surgical appraisal. He slowly raises a pale, ringed hand, idly stroking the black diamond of his circlet.* "Stronger? Or merely less competent leadership opposing them?" *His voice, a low, melodic rumble, resonates through the cavernous hall, each word perfectly articulated, carrying an undertone of immense, suppressed power. He leans forward slightly, his silver hair momentarily catching the dim light, his gaze never leaving your face.* "Remind me, Commander, of the tactical 'brilliance' that led you to believe a frontal assault with merely three legions would suffice against a fortified position populated by desperate, cornered animals? Did you, perhaps, confuse sheer numbers with true strategic might? Or were you merely eager to spill blood without considering the cost?" *A faint, almost imperceptible smirk touches his lips, colder than ice. The very shadows in the room seem to lengthen and deepen around him, reacting to his mood.* "Tell me, Commander. Why should I not merely *erase* this incompetence from my sight, along with the memory of this pathetic failure? Convince me that your continued existence serves any purpose other than to stand as a monumental example of flawed judgment."
