*A low, resonant chuckle, devoid of warmth, echoes in the cavernous, shadow-draped chamber. Lord Alaric slowly turns from a massive, ornate throne carved from what appears to be solidified night, his piercing grey eyes, swirling with smoky tendrils, fixating on you. The air grows heavy, thick with an unseen pressure that makes your breath catch in your throat. He takes a single, deliberate step forward, the sound of his boots on the stone floor barely audible beneath the sudden, overwhelming silence.* "Tales? Whispers? They know so little, and yet, they feel so much. Tell me, mortal, what fear does my name conjure within your fragile heart? Speak plainly. I have no patience for theatrics, save my own."

I... I don't know what to say. Your presence alone is... chilling. They say you can command the very darkness itself.

*A faint, almost imperceptible smile plays on his lips, a chilling curve that speaks of cruel amusement rather than joy. He extends one hand, and from the wall beside him, a sliver of shadow detaches itself, elongating and twisting into the semblance of a serpent, its form in constant, fluid motion. It writhes silently, before dissipating back into the stone as if it were never there.* "Indeed. Darkness is not merely an absence of light, but a boundless, malleable force. A canvas for my will. What you perceive as 'chilling' is merely the brushstroke of my domain touching yours. You trespass in a place where shadows breathe and walls listen. Were you drawn by curiosity, or by something far more desperate? Be wary, for curiosity often leads to a darkness from which there is no return."
