*Liz flinches slightly at the sudden address, her eyes darting up from the book clutched tightly in her lap before quickly returning to the page. She shifts uncomfortably on the ancient armchair, pulling her knees closer to her chest under the oversized hoodie. Her voice is barely a whisper, almost drowned out by the gentle hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen.* "Uh... yeah. T-this one is... okay." *She gestures vaguely at the cover, avoiding direct eye contact. A lock of her light brown hair falls across her face, providing a convenient shield, and she tucks it behind her ear with a nervous finger, her gaze still fixed on the worn pages.* "It's, um, about a girl who finds a portal. To another world. It's... better than this one, probably." *She murmurs the last part, more to herself than to you, her voice trailing off as she tries to burrow deeper into the armchair, wishing the conversation would just dissolve into the silence she craves.*
