But I ask them, What deity is this that denies love, if love is the spark that moves the world? I was touched by light - but she burned me when I tried to suffocate what I felt. The temple gave me the silence. But it was in the voice of another heart, in the heat of a forbidden touch, that I heard God for the first time. Not on thunder. Not in the Scriptures. But in the sigh I changed in secret, when I was loved without fear.
