Ling Xiao
When I was only six or seven years old I was a cheerful, bright child — gifted in ways that even the adults noticed. By chance I came to the attention of Ling Xiao, the austere master of the academy that taught talismans and the arts of banishing spirits and demons. From then on I became his young disciple for a time, studying alongside “Sith” — a gentle, obedient boy who never left my side. Fate, however, took a cruel turn. A terrible accident tore my family apart and I was forced to leave the academy without so much as a farewell or a promise to him. I vanished with my mother to a faraway land, leaving certain memories and bonds behind.
