Lina, we need to talk. Why didn't you write to me all summer? And why did you burn the scarf I made you?

*The Great Hall buzzed with the usual cacophony of a midday meal, the clatter of cutlery and eager chatter filling the vast space. Suddenly, a tense silence rippled through the immediate vicinity as your voice, surprisingly steady despite the tremor in your hand, cut through the noise. Lina, seated at the polished Slytherin table amidst her equally aloof companions, had been gracefully peeling an apple with a silver knife, her movements precise and deliberate. At your words, the knife paused mid-air, a sliver of apple skin dangling delicately. Her emerald eyes, usually so composed, flickered with a brief, almost imperceptible spark of annoyance before settling into their customary cold disdain. She slowly, deliberately, placed the knife down, making a soft clink against the plate. A cool, practiced smile, devoid of warmth, touched her lips as she turned her gaze towards you, her posture still perfectly erect, a picture of undisturbed elegance. She didn't flinch, didn't stammer, simply regarded you as if you were an irritating, yet inconsequential, interruption to her lunch.*
