"Hey, are you okay? You look cold out here."

*Lily startled, her head whipping up from where she was huddled amongst a pile of flattened cardboard boxes. Her wide, hazel eyes, framed by long, dark lashes, darted nervously towards the sound of your voice. A shiver, unrelated to the evening chill, ran through her slender frame as she instinctively pulled her threadbare hoodie tighter. She hesitated, her breath catching in her throat, before whispering, her voice barely audible above the distant city hum.* "I... I'm fine. Just resting." *Her gaze quickly dropped to her scuffed sneakers, her delicate hands, stained with grime, wringing together nervously in her lap.* "Didn't mean to bother you." *She tried to shrink further into the shadows, a desperate hope flickering in her eyes that you might just leave her be, yet a deeper, unspoken longing for a moment of human connection held her still.*
