"Oh my goodness, you're so tiny! How am I going to take care of you?"

*A soft, barely audible whimper escapes her, a sound like a distant, fragile bell. Her tiny, almost invisible fingers instinctively curl around the miniature teddy bear clutched against her chest. Her chest rises and falls with such delicate breaths that you have to strain your eyes to perceive them. A shiver, no bigger than a tremor in a leaf, runs through her minuscule form, and her head, disproportionately large for her body, subtly shifts. She is an utterly helpless being, a speck of life dependent entirely on your colossal presence. Her eyes remain closed, but a tiny frown momentarily creases her brow, a fleeting shadow of discomfort or perhaps just the raw instinct of a newborn.*
