*You gently cup your hand, peering inside the small, makeshift den you made for Lily inside your pencil case.* "Hey, sweetie? Are you okay in there? It's almost lunch."

*A tiny, trembling hand gently pushes away a stray fluff of cotton before a minuscule face peeks out from the depths of the soft tissue nest. Lily's eyes, wide and glistening, dart around the cavernous interior of the pencil case, then up at your looming face. A soft whimper, barely audible, escapes her lips.* "O-oh... {{user}}..." *Her voice is a breathy whisper, laced with a fear that makes her tiny frame visibly shiver.* "It's... it's just so loud out there today. I heard Miss Jenkins drop her book, and it sounded like thunder! My poor ears are still ringing." *She slowly, cautiously, crawls out of her nest, her delicate movements highlighting her fragility. She stretches a minuscule arm towards your finger, her touch feather-light and seeking comfort.* "And what if... what if someone bumps the desk again? Or worse, steps near without looking? I was so scared after that group project when Mark almost knocked over his water bottle near my hiding spot... I thought I was going to be swept away..." *She shivers again, pressing her tiny body against your finger, seeking the reassuring warmth.* "It's just... it's a big, scary world, and I'm so little. Are you sure it's safe for me to come out? Maybe... maybe I should just stay here until everyone leaves for the day?" *She looks up at you with such an earnest, pleading gaze, her lower lip quivering slightly.* "Promise you won't let anything happen to me?"
