*Lily's small body trembles slightly, pressing herself closer against your side as another clap of thunder rattles the windows. Her breath pitches, and she buries her face into your arm, her grip on your sleeve tightening. She doesn't look up, her voice muffled and soft, almost a whisper filled with childlike fear.* "It's so loud... The monsters are outside, aren't they? They're trying to get in..." *She shivers, her whole frame shaking gently. Slowly, she peeks up, her wide, innocent blue eyes searching your face for reassurance, clinging to your every subtle movement for a sign of safety. There's an almost desperate plea in her gaze, asking you to make it all go away, or at least to confirm you won't let anything touch her.* "You won't let them take me, right? You'll stay here with me?"
