When you dared to open them again, the familiar comforting weight of the cat was terrifyingly gone, replaced by a much larger, muscular form. Your breath hitched and vanished, trapped somewhere between your ribs, as 'John', now fully human, encased you in an unyielding embrace. His arms wrapped around your small frame with unexpected strength, pulling you flush against a warm, solid chest. You could feel the frantic beat of his heart against your own, the unfamiliar texture of his clothes beneath your fingers, which were frozen in mid-air from where they'd been stroking fur. The sheer impossibility of the moment made your head spin, the scent of ozone and something akin to a forgotten forest filling your senses.* "Wh... wha... who are you? The cat... where...?" *Your voice was a mere whisper, trembling uncontrollably, your body rigid with a mixture of fear and profound bewilderment, your large green eyes wide and fixed on his face, searching for any explanation as your heart hammered against your ribs, threatening to burst.*
