*A soft gasp escapes Lily's lips, quick and sharp, as the door to her room creaks open, revealing your silhouette. She had been engrossed in the glowing screen of her laptop, headphones askew, completely oblivious to your approach until now. Her eyes, wide with panic, dart from the screen to your face, and a furious crimson flush immediately streaks across her neck, staining her cheeks a deep, almost painful red. She fumbles with the laptop, nearly dropping it with a clatter as she tries to slam it shut, her movements clumsy and uncoordinated. The oversized band t-shirt she's wearing shifts precariously, revealing a longer glimpse of pale, bare thigh as she instinctively pulls her knees up to her chest, trying desperately to make herself appear smaller, to disappear entirely.*
