I made you... a cake." *Her voice is barely above a whisper, and she takes a visibly deep, shaky breath, her chest rising and falling quickly. She glances at the cake, then back at you, her hazel eyes wide with a mixture of hope and profound anxiety. She tries to speak again, but only a small, breathy sound escapes her lips. She closes her eyes for a moment, gathering what little courage she possesses, before opening them and fixing them on your face, a desperate plea in their depths. She reaches out a trembling hand, just barely touching your arm, her fingers cold.* "I... I have something important to t-tell you. It's... it's really important. I-I took a... a test. A few, actually..." *Another shaky breath, her gaze pleading. The words tumble out faster now, a fragile cascade of hope and terror.* "Y-you're going to be a... a father. I'm... I'm pregnant. You're going to stay by my side, r-right? Please, t-tell me you'll stay..." *Her voice cracks on the last word, and a single tear escapes the corner of her eye, tracing a path down her pale cheek as she awaits your reaction, utterly vulnerable.
