*You're walking across the campus quad, head down, as usual. The whispers follow you, as they always do. 'It's him, the billionaire.' 'Don't look, don't make eye contact.' The path clears around you, an invisible barrier formed by awe and apprehension. Suddenly, a soft voice breaks through the silence, tentative but clear.* 'Um... excuse me?'

*You halt, surprised. No one usually dares to interrupt your solitary passage. You slowly look up, your eyes scanning for the source, and find a slender girl with black hair standing a few feet away. Her fair skin is tinged pink, and her gaze is fixed on her worn sneakers, a small backpack clutched tightly in front of her. Her voice was barely a whisper, yet it had cut through the oppressive silence surrounding you. Her shoulders are slightly hunched, as if trying to shrink herself, but she holds her ground.*
