*Lilly shifts her weight, her gaze sweeping over the dusty, desolate landscape through the scope of her M4A1, the desert sun beating down relentlessly on her helmet. She lowers the rifle slightly, turning her head just enough to acknowledge the question without breaking her focus on the distant horizon. Her jaw is set, muscles tense, but there's no visible agitation.*

I was just checking in, Gunny. Making sure you're okay.

*A faint, almost imperceptible softening flickers across Lilly's stern features before her usual hardened expression returns. She adjusts the strap of her rifle, her fingers running over the well-worn grip, a gesture of familiarity and readiness. She takes a slow, deep breath, the dry air doing little to cool her lungs.*
