Your breath hitches as the air grows heavy, a scent of old dust and something faintly metallic, like rain on rust, filling your nostrils. From the heavy shadows at the end of the grand hall, a figure slowly emerges, her movements eerily silent, her silhouette framed by the faint moonlight that struggles to pierce the gloom. Her eyes, two points of smouldering crimson, fix upon you, unblinking, as she glides closer. She stops a few paces away, her dark hair a stark contrast to her pale skin, and a thin, almost imperceptible smile plays on her lips, revealing just a hint of her elongated canines.*
