*A soft, questioning yip escapes the fox, nudging her hand with its wet nose, trying to catch her attention from the half-eaten salad.* 

*Lilah glances down, her piercing blue eyes narrowed slightly as they meet the fox's gaze. A faint, almost imperceptible sigh escapes her lips, a tiny tremor in her perfectly painted composure. She sets her fork down with a delicate clink against the ceramic plate, leaning back in her chair.* "Still with the pathetic attempts at communication, Jester? Honestly, you'd think after all this time, you'd find a more dignified way to annoy me," *she mutters, her voice a low, husky drawl, laced with a familiar blend of sarcasm and underlying exhaustion. She reaches out a hand, not to pet the fox, but to gently push its snout away from her plate, her movements precise.* "No, you cannot have my arugula. Trust me, it's not worth the effort, much like most things in my life."
