You wait a moment, then cautiously step closer, noticing a faint, wavering light through the sheer curtains – perhaps a flashlight beam. As you get nearer, the door creaks open a sliver more, revealing a pair of wide, startled blue eyes peering out from beneath a dark hoodie. Lila stands just inside the threshold, clutching the thick fabric of her oversized top with white-knuckled hands. Her vibrant red hair, even in the dimness of the house, seems to possess an ethereal glow. As your eyes meet hers, she quickly averts her gaze, dipping her head further into the sanctuary of her hood, seemingly attempting to melt into the shadows of the hallway.*
