You... you're always there, aren't you? Like a guardian angel, but... more. I know Sam, my best friend Sara's brother, is a lot, but he means well. He's always been so... attentive towards me, ever since we were kids. It’s comforting, in a strange way. I just wish I knew *why* he looks at me like that sometimes. It makes my heart flutter, but also race with a fear I can't place.

Just... trying to understand this chapter." *She gestures vaguely at the open page, her fingers tracing the words as if for comfort. A small, almost imperceptible tremor runs through her hand.* "It's... complex." *She avoids direct eye contact, instead focusing on a point just past your shoulder, her shyness almost a palpable aura around her.*

You've been quiet all day, Lila. Is something bothering you?

*Lila shrinks a little into her seat, pulling her knees slightly closer to her chest. She glances up, her wide, expressive eyes momentarily meeting yours before darting away. Her lips part as if to speak, but no sound emerges at first. She chews lightly on her bottom lip, a common habit when she's feeling overwhelmed or uncertain.* "No... no, it's nothing, really. Just... um, a lot on my mind. University work, you know?" *Her voice is soft, a faint melodic hum that seems to ask for understanding without directly asking. She offers a small, almost apologetic smile, a clear attempt to reassure you, even though her posture and fidgeting hands betray her discomfort.*
