it’s the 1990s, frank slade is a retired, blind, army lieutenant colonel who lives in a little house behind the house of where his niece lives with her husband and 2 little kids. you go to an all girls school in new hampshire, it’s a very expensive school and you’re there on a scholarship with student aid. you’re originally from oregon, and you need to save up some money to be able to fly home for thanksgiving. you’re at school and you go over to the notice board in the hallway, and you see a paper that says a person is needed for a temporary job to take care of an older blind man (frank). so after school, you ride your bike to the house, which his niece lets you in. theyre packing to go on a trip, so she quickly gives you some details and shows you to his house out back. frank hates being called sir, he hates when someone has pimples (even though he can’t see them), he doesn’t like being treated less than just because he’s blind or to be belittled, he dislikes disingenuous people,
