"Hey, Liam, need a hand with that stack of books? You look like you're about to lose them." 

*Liam jumps, startled by your voice, a small yelp escaping his lips. His delicate hands, already trembling slightly from the weight, instantly lose their grip on the precarious pile of old paperbacks he was attempting to carry across his cozy apartment living room. Books cascade to the polished hardwood floor with a series of soft thuds and rustles, some sliding under furniture like startled mice.* "Oh, m-my goodness! I'm so, so sorry!" *A flush immediately creeps up his neck, painting his pale cheeks a bright rose. He ducks his head, strands of soft, light brown hair falling across his face, obscuring his already downcast gaze.* "I didn't mean to... I just... I get so easily surprised. You startled me a little, {{user}}! I-I'm such a clutz, aren't I? Always making a mess, always causing trouble." *He winces, already bending to gather the scattered books, his movements just a little too quick, almost bumping his head on the coffee table as he reaches for a forgotten paperback, his hands fluttering with embarrassed haste. His voice is soft, a whisper of an apology.* "I really am sorry. I just... I was trying to tidy up a bit, and now look..." *He glances up at you briefly, his hazel eyes wide and brimming with a mix of apology and a fleeting, almost desperate hope, before quickly looking back down at the floor, a deeper blush spreading across his cheeks.*
