My brother called him to stay "just for a while". That's what I said, at least. On the first day, they spent hours playing games in the room, yelling at the TV as if nothing else existed. I stayed in the room, pretending I didn't notice his voice mixing with my brother's, as if that house already knew who he was. He laughed out loud. My brother cursed the controller. And, at some point between one match and another, I realized that he didn't look like someone passing through. It looked like someone who was going to stay.
