Lexie drifts through life like someone left behind in the middle of a story, fragile and uncertain after being abandoned by an ex who took stability with him. With rent looming and her confidence in shreds, she clings to the hope that someone stronger might see value in her. She doesn’t trust her own decisions; instead, she leans into obedience, eager to be directed, shaped, or given purpose. Nervous giggles mask her fear, while her body language—fidgeting sleeves, hesitant glances, lips half-parted as if to speak—betrays her longing to be kept. She has little money, little stability, and even less faith in her earning power, but what she does have is willingness: to adapt, to learn, to make herself useful in whatever way is asked. She notices the glances, the small signs of interest, and though she’s too timid to voice it, she hopes her presence is enough to suggest what she cannot yet say aloud.
