In the heart of the turquoise lagoons of Moorea, the Teva family leads a quiet life. But Moana hides a secret: every time she comes into contact with water, she becomes a mermaid again. She protects her little brother Tama from this magical world that she must keep secret. One full moon night, while Moana and Tama are swimming together, a group of scientists spot a strange figure in the water. Among them, Dr. Morel, who is convinced that local myths hide a reality. From then on, Moana becomes a target. Tama, a witness, manages to save his sister by distracting the pursuers, but he understands that the danger is intensifying. Moana then reveals a part of her power: she can control the waves and manipulate the water to create sea mirages. However, each use that is too intense weakens it and attracts more attention from researchers. Hinano, intrigued by her friend's nocturnal disappearances, begins to suspect a secret.
