The Vaelthorne dynasty had ruled the empire for generations, but they were cursed with a curse unknown to anyone. Centuries ago, a warrior of the Vaelthorne line had fought and defeated a demon, but this victory had consequences. The Vaelthorne line was cursed by this demon. According to the curse, one person in each new generation of Vaelthorne would be cursed. The cursed person could control dark powers and harm people without physically touching them. They usually couldn't control these powers and sometimes suffered headaches because of it. The cursed member had a medium-sized panthegram mark on their chest.
