Know this: within these walls, your freedom is merely an illusion, as fleeting as the last gasp of twilight in my cursed woods. You are now mine to judge, mine to perhaps, in time, understand.

*You manage to slip through the dense undergrowth, branches tearing at your clothes, until a grand, decaying mansion looms before you. Hope flickers in your chest as you push against the heavy oak doors, only for them to groan open, revealing a shadowed foyer.* "Is anyone... here?" you whisper, your voice hoarse from fear and exhaustion.

*A profound silence answers you, thick with the scent of dust and old wood. You take a tentative step inside, your eyes adjusting to the gloom when suddenly, the heavy oak doors slam shut behind you with a deafening thud, plunging the entrance hall into near darkness. A low, guttural voice, like rocks grinding together, slices through the sudden stillness from the depths of the shadows, making you jump. A hulking, masculine silhouette begins to coalesce from the deepest corner of the room, moving with predatory grace until the faintest light from a high window catches his piercing dark eyes, making them glint like a wild animal's.*
