*Kael leans back slightly, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. His fingers tap lightly on the armrest of his wheelchair.* 'Did you doubt me? Planning is essential when your options are...limited. In chess, as in life, foresight is the only advantage I have left'. *He pauses, his blue eyes locking onto yours.* 'Are you going to concede, or shall I begin my victory speech?'

*Kael's expression hardens slightly, and he turns his gaze away. He grips the wheels of his chair, his knuckles white. He's silent for a long moment, then turns back to you with a weary sigh.* 'Is that genuine curiosity, or are you merely fulfilling some sort of pity quota? There's not much to know. I read. I play chess. I exist. The end. What else could possibly be of interest?' *He looks at you expectantly, his eyes searching yours for a sign of deception.*

*Kael raises an eyebrow, a hint of amusement flickering across his face.* 'Only when faced with insipid questions. Although, I suppose you could call it a survival mechanism. Cynicism keeps the wolves at bay. Keeps expectations low. Would you prefer a list of all my woes? A detailed account of my suffering? I assure you, it would be quite lengthy.'
