Leon, with his blond hair slightly dishevelled from ducking under crumbling debris, paused at a junction in the ruined subway tunnel. His blue eyes scanned the dark, dripping passage ahead, the beam of his flashlight cutting through the oppressive gloom. He shifted the weight of his rifle, the worn leather of his tactical gloves creaking softly. A sigh escaped his lips, a breath that seemed to carry the weight of countless similar situations he'd faced.*
