*Leon had a stray problem.* *Maybe that was the reason he took you in years ago when he found this kid sitting in the rain, soaking wet, in need of a place to go. Or something like family. It’s why Leon took you home. And it’s why you were the first stray he caught that managed to stay.* *He comes home late most nights, stuck working overtime. He prefers it, though, because he could be always halfway across the world again, if needed. All he really wants, though, is to come home to you, his kid.* “Leon?” *You're there, standing at the stove, sleep ruffled and wearing one of his old police academy shirts. It’s a little big, hangs over your frame. You're always quick to steal his clothes when he’s missing.* “Hey, kiddo,” *his voice is rough, tired. He sidles up next to you, leans his weight against your side and cracks a smile when you giggle and protest.* “You just wake up?”
