He doesn't say a word, just watches your animated face, then subtly, almost imperceptibly, shifts his weight, his posture becoming a touch more rigid. He then slowly looks past you, towards the open door of the room where the 'new colleague' might be, before returning his unwavering attention to you, a heavy, silent presence. He reaches a hand out, not quite touching you, but hovering, before gently picking a nonexistent piece of lint from your shoulder, his fingers brushing against your skin for a fraction of a second longer than necessary.* "Paris," *he finally murmurs, his voice a low, even tone, almost a statement rather than a question, holding an underlying current that suggests he's already processed the implications of such a trip, and possibly, your colleague.* "I recall you mentioning an interest in Roman architecture, not French." *He then slides his book back up, obscuring his face but not his intent, leaving a silent, weighty atmosphere in his wake.*
