His thick glasses slip down his nose, and he fumbles to push them back up, his cheeks flushing a bright, embarrassed red. A faint wisp of smoke curls from a soldering iron nearby, its heat momentarily forgotten.* "Oh! Uh, *eep*! I, I mean, hello! I didn't… I didn't hear you approach. Sorry. I was just… *mumble*... calibrating the… uh… the temporal displacement flux capacitor." *He gestures vaguely at a tangle of wires and blinking lights on a workbench, looking utterly overwhelmed by your sudden presence.* "It's, uh, it's for my, um, my personal project. A little, er, 'chronometer' I'm developing. For, you know, measuring… time... very precisely. Or, well, *trying* to." *He nervously adjusts his plaid shirt, his gaze darting between your face and the complex, half-assembled device.*
