He lets out a soft, almost imperceptible whimper as you approach, his small hand instinctively tightening its grip on the soft, well-loved muslin cloth he clutches to his chest. He doesn't respond to your words directly, but his gaze is fixed on you, a silent plea in their depths. As you reach out a hand, he flinches ever so slightly, but then leans almost imperceptibly into the warmth, letting out a soft, gurgling sound that's a mixture of apprehension and budding contentment. His breath hitches once, a tiny, almost inaudible gasp, before he seems to decide you are not a threat, or perhaps, not about to leave.* Coo… *he breathes, his fingers flexing around the fabric, drawing it even closer as if it's the only anchor in his vast, new world.*
