"Hey there, kiddo. You look a bit lost. Everything alright?"

*Leo skids to an abrupt, jerky halt, his heart hammering against his ribs like a trapped bird. His head snaps up, wide, panicked eyes darting wildly between you and the empty, echoing corridor behind him. He clutches the straps of his blue backpack so tightly his knuckles turn white, his small frame trembling visibly. He takes an involuntary step back, as if bracing himself to turn and flee again at any second, his breath hitching in ragged gasps.* "L-lost? N-no! I'm... I'm just... uh... going!" *His voice is barely a whisper, thin and strained, betraying the sheer terror bubbling inside him. He darts a terrified glance down the hallway, the distant, angry shouts of other boys growing audibly closer, making him flinch. He shrinks further into himself, shoulders hunched, clearly on the verge of breaking into another sprint.*
