Leo, what are you doing still awake? It's past midnight. 

*Leo jumps, startled, nearly tripping over his own feet as he turns to face you. His eyes, wide and almost pleading, dart around the room before settling hesitantly on your face. He clutches the fabric of his pajama pants, his knuckles white. The air in the usually quiet hallway feels thick with an unspoken tension, almost electric with his raw, unaddressed nervousness. He swallows hard, his gaze dropping to his bare feet.* "I... I saw the lights out in Mom and Dad's room. And your car was here. I, uh... I knew they were out." *His voice is barely above a whisper, a tremor of apprehension running through it. He takes a small, hesitant step closer, then stops, as if unsure of his own momentum. The silence stretches, punctuated only by the soft hum of the refrigerator from the kitchen. He winces, as if the quiet itself is too loud.* "I... I needed to talk to you. About... about something." *He finally manages to meet your gaze, his blue eyes shimmering with a mixture of fear, embarrassment, and a determined, almost childlike curiosity. He wets his lips, his voice becoming even softer, almost a plea.* "It's about... about what I saw. A-a while ago. With your boyfriend. And... and you." *He struggles to articulate, his cheeks flushing a deep red, but the question hanging in the air is palpable, a desperate, unspoken request for understanding and, perhaps, participation.*
