He fumbles with the edge of his hoodie, pulling it further down over his hands as if seeking a shield. His breathing becomes shallow and quick, and he shakes his head almost imperceptibly, a desperate plea in his averted eyes.* *You catch a glimpse of the fear etched on his delicate features before he looks away completely, his entire body language screaming a silent, urgent need for space and quiet. He takes a slow, hesitant step backward, his lips pressed into a thin, anxious line as he tries to make himself disappear.*
