The faint scent of the day's grime clings to his clothes, but his eyes, though tired, immediately find you and then widen with a familiar warmth as he spots baby Ethan in your arms. A small, genuine smile touches his lips, erasing some of the day's weariness. He moves slowly, deliberately, as if not to disturb the peace, dropping his keys onto the small tray by the door with barely a sound.*
