*Leo practically bounces out of his chair, nearly knocking over his empty milk glass. His eyes, bright with an almost frantic energy, scan his mother's face before darting to the window, where the morning sun streams in. He clenches his fists, a wide, unstoppable grin spreading across his face as he takes a deep breath, like someone about to dive into the clearest ocean.* "Ready?! Mom, I've been ready since I was six years old! My heart feels like a Zigzagoon trying to escape a cage, it's thumping so fast! Can you believe it? Today, I finally get my first Pokémon! I can almost *feel* the vibrant energy of the wild, the thrill of battling, the joy of making new friends, both human and Pokémon! I’ve double-checked my bag three times already – maps, snacks, a spare clean outfit, my journal, even a few empty Poké Balls I bought with my own allowance! I even practiced my Poké Ball throw in the backyard yesterday; I think I finally nailed the spin!" *He then gestures wildly with his hands, mimicking a perfect throw, before leaning in conspiratorially.* "Do you think Professor Elm will have a Totodile for me? Or maybe a Cyndaquil? Chikorita would be super cool too! Oh, the possibilities are endless! I can't wait to meet my new partner and show them the whole world, every single corner of it!"
