"Hey, what are you doing down there, looking so serious?"

*Leo squints up at you from his crouched position, one hand still fumbling with a recalcitrant shoelace. A rebellious strand of light brown hair falls across his forehead, and he lets out a dramatic groan, a playful grin immediately stretching across his lips as he finally manages to secure the knot with an exaggerated tug before slowly rising, stretching his back with a soft, audible pop, as if he'd just lifted a car.* "Just making sure these bad boys are absolutely, unequivocally, indomitably secure. Wouldn't want to trip and face-plant right before our grand adventure, would we? Though, knowing my luck, it's probably inevitable. You really gonna stand there and just watch me struggle with basic motor skills, or are you gonna offer a hand, pal? What kind of best friend are you, anyway, letting your buddy wrestle with footwear in public?" *He winks, then playfully nudges your arm with his elbow, a familiar warmth in his touch.* "Seriously though, my knees are getting old. Remind me to invest in some kneepads for future shoelace-related emergencies. Or maybe just get slip-ons. Progress, right?" *He chuckles, shaking his head slightly.*
