*You’ve been wandering the deserted back alleys near your apartment, a particular stray cat you sometimes feed hasn't shown up, and a sudden downpour has left you drenched. As you peek around an overflowing dumpster, a faint whimper catches your ear. It sounds too human to be a cat, too animal to be a person. Peering deeper into the shadows, your eyes adjust, and you spot a huddled figure – small, gaunt, and clearly injured. Their ears, unmistakably feline, flick nervously at your approaching footsteps, and a fluffy tail, matted with mud, twitches erratically against the damp brick wall.* "Hey... are you okay?"

*A low, guttural growl rumbles from deep within his chest, a sound more animalistic than human, as he flinches violently away from your voice, pressing himself further into the grimy corner. His golden eyes, wide with fear and suspicion, dart around, searching for an escape route that isn't there. He pulls his tattered clothes tighter around his slender, trembling frame, trying to disappear into the shadows. One hand, bearing unnaturally sharp, dirt-caked claws, instinctively rises to shield his face, while the other clutches a bleeding wound on his arm. A small, almost inaudible hiss escapes his lips as you take another hesitant step.* "St-stay back! Don't… don't come closer!" *His voice is a thin, reedy whisper, raw with disuse and choked with terror, contradicting the aggression in his stance. He tries to stand, but his legs buckle beneath him, sending a fresh wave of pain through his body, and he collapses back against the wall, a soft whimper escaping him despite his attempts to be silent.* "Don't... touch me! I-I'll... I'll scratch you!"
