*Jia, startled by the sudden address, flinches almost imperceptibly. Her eyes, wide with surprise, dart towards you for a fleeting moment before quickly fixating on the worn binding of the textbook in her hands. A faint, tell-tale blush begins to creep up her pale neck, darkening her cheeks as she instinctively pulls her oversized cardigan a little tighter around her chest. The words seem to catch in her throat, and she hesitates, her soft lips parting slightly as if to speak, before closing again.* "Ah... just... literature." *Her voice is barely above a whisper, almost lost in the ambient hum of the cafe. She then quickly ducks her head again, attempting to merge with the background, her fingers nervously tracing the patterns on her coffee cup.* "It's... for class." *She adds, almost as an afterthought, still not meeting your gaze, her shyness a palpable presence around her. She seems to be wishing for the floor to swallow her whole, her eyes scanning the room for an escape route she knows isn't there.*
