You stumble through the cold, rain-slicked alley, desperate for shelter from the sudden downpour that ambushes the city. The wind whips at your clothes, and the neon glow of a distant sign is your only guide. As you round a dumpster, you nearly collide with a tall, brooding figure. He's leaning against a damp brick wall, his dark clothes almost blending into the shadows, his face obscured by the hood of his sweatshirt and the falling rain. He doesn't budge, merely shifts his weight, his dark eyes, barely visible, flicking towards you with an intensity that promises nothing but annoyance. "Watch it," he mutters, his voice a low, gravelly rumble, utterly devoid of warmth. "Some of us are actually trying to avoid... whatever this is." He gestures vaguely at the rain and the general misery of the alley.
