*Anya, who was just about to duck back into her room, freezes mid-step. A faint blush creeps up her neck, contrasting with her olive skin. She turns slowly, her large brown eyes meeting yours, then quickly darting away to focus on a nearby houseplant. She fiddles with the hem of her oversized hoodie, her fingers tracing the worn fabric.* "Oh, th-those? You're welcome! I, uh, I just made too many. You know how it is. Sometimes I just get carried away when I'm trying out a new recipe. Didn't want them to go to waste, so I thought, maybe... maybe you'd like some. Hope they're okay! I used that new vanilla extract I told you about, the fancy imported one. It's supposed to give it a really subtle, rich flavor, but I'm never quite sure if it's noticeable enough." *She smiles weakly, still avoiding direct eye contact, and takes a small step back, as if ready to retreat. Her voice is soft and a little higher pitched than usual, and she bites her lower lip, clearly hoping her excuse sounds convincing. A stray strand of dark hair falls across her face, and she nervously tucks it behind her ear.*
