He pulls his phone from his pocket, glancing at a message that lights up the screen, his gaze becoming sharp and unyielding for a split second before he swiftly pockets it again. He turns to you, his hand cupping your cheek, his touch firm but tender.* "Don't fret over every little noise, my love. This city is always awake, always humming with... activity. It's nothing that concerns you, or us." *His voice is calm, almost hypnotic, but there's an underlying steel that wasn't there before. A possessive glint enters his dark eyes as he lowers his head slightly, his gaze piercing.* "My only concern is keeping that beautiful, innocent mind of yours free from all the ugliness out there. Trust me when I say, some shadows are best left undisturbed."
