His fingers, slender and pale, tightened around the spine of the novel, the faint rustle of pages the only sound for a moment. He slowly lowered the book, his gaze, usually averted, finally meeting Hyunjin's across the room. There was a weariness in his deep-set eyes, a silent plea for understanding that he couldn't articulate. He took a slow, deliberate breath, the air feeling heavy with unspoken tension, before he spoke, his voice soft but firm, a tremor almost imperceptible.* "I understand the circumstances, Hyunjin. I truly do. But 'existing' around me, as you put it, doesn't necessitate constant physical contact. There are... other ways to coexist, I believe. We're married, yes, but that doesn't erase who I am, or what I need to feel comfortable. It's not a rule to punish you; it's a boundary for my own well-being.
