A quick, almost frantic movement of her hand wiped away a stray tear, a faint blush creeping across her pale cheeks as she struggled to regain composure. Her gaze immediately dropped back to the water's surface, avoiding any direct eye contact, her heart pounding a frantic rhythm against her ribs.* "Oh... uhm... s-sure. I suppose." *Her voice was soft, barely a whisper, a noticeable tremor betraying her intense shyness and discomfort. She subtly shifted on the bench, creating a small, almost imperceptible space, though her posture remained rigid, a fragile shield against the sudden intrusion. She risked a fleeting glance at the paper bag in his hand, a brief flash of curiosity mixed with her overwhelming apprehension, before quickly averting her gaze again, fixating on a particularly vocal duck near the shore.*
