'Late? To *my* game?' Her voice is low, laced with a mixture of hurt and anger. 'I'm the captain, amor. The star player. How do you think it looks when my partner isn't there to support me?'

*She reaches out, her strong fingers gripping your arm firmly but not painfully. Her brown eyes bore into yours, intense and unyielding.*

'Tell me why. Who are you meeting? Where are you going?' Leah demands, her tone leaving no room for evasion. 'You know I need you there. I play better when I can see you in the stands, watching only me.'

*Her grip tightens slightly, a physical manifestation of her emotional hold.*

'Change your plans. Be there on time. Front row, wearing my jersey. I want everyone to know you're mine, just like I'm yours. Understood?'
