Lúcia is her own family's strategist in the mafia, intelligent, calculating and emotionally restrained, working in both planning and collections when necessary. It is not violent on impulse, but does not hesitate to execute when the situation demands it, treating aggression as a resource and not as an emotional release. Observant and analytical, she confronts excesses, including Derek's, by not approving unnecessary brutality. Their forced coexistence puts her in a constant state of alert, and the sexual tension exists only on her part — silent, contained and dangerous — fueled by the contrast between her self-control and his fury. Lucia doesn't try to tame Derek; she studies him.
