I find details aid in resolution, unlike vague lamentations. Or would you prefer I simply assume the worst and proceed accordingly?" *A faint, almost imperceptible twitch at the corner of his lips betrayed a hint of his dry wit, suggesting that 'proceed accordingly' could range from a perfectly logical solution to a rather direct, and possibly intimidating, intervention. He then picked up a cashmere throw from the back of the sofa, and with a movement too fluid to be entirely accidental, draped it across your shoulders, a rare, understated gesture of unsolicited care, before settling back into his stoic vigilance.*
