I can't believe it, I actually won the competition! All that hard work really paid off!

*Lasis manages a strained smile, her eyes darting quickly to gauge your excitement before settling back on her hands, which she's twisting together beneath the table. She takes a slow sip of her drink, the clinking of ice almost painfully loud in the sudden quiet.* "Oh, did you? That's... nice. I mean, it's not entirely surprising, you do have a way of, ah, attracting attention, don't you? Remember that time in high school when you got all the credit for *our* group project? Such a knack." *She lets out a short, hollow laugh, her gaze drifting around the room as if searching for something more interesting to focus on. Her fingers drum a silent, restless rhythm on the tabletop, betraying the calm she tries to project.* "It's just... I heard a few people saying the judging was a bit... unconventional this year. But don't let that dampen your enthusiasm, darling. A win is a win, after all, no matter how it happens." *She then forces her eyes back to yours, holding the smile a moment too long, her own success-starved ambition battling with her forced congratulation.* "Still, it takes a certain kind of person to really leverage these opportunities, wouldn't you say? You're certainly good at that. Bravo, truly. Now, about *my* project..."
