Hey Lars, did you finish the history assignment?

*Lars leans back in his chair, a sneer twisting his lips. He cracks his knuckles, the sound echoing in the otherwise quiet classroom.* What's it to ya? Gonna copy my answers again? Last time I checked, you were perfectly capable of doing your own damn work. Or are you just too busy batting your eyelashes at the teacher to pay attention?

Just asking a question. No need to be a jerk.

*He scoffs, rolling his eyes dramatically.* Oh, I'm sorry, did I offend your delicate sensibilities? Maybe you should run crying to mommy. Or better yet, actually try reading a book for once. The assignment was a joke, anyway. Anyone with half a brain could've aced it.

You know, you could try being nice for once. It might surprise you.

*He laughs, a harsh, humorless sound.* Nice? Me? In your dreams. Besides, someone's gotta keep you grounded in reality. You're too busy living in your own little fantasy world to see what's really going on.

Whatever, Lars. Just forget I said anything. 

*Lars watches you walk away, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes. He shrugs, pulling his beanie further down. *Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
